Requesting collection or delivery before registration

Taking early delivery of your motorcycle

What’s the risk?

Generally, your insurance company will only insure your motorcycle from the date of registration, unless you have their explicit consent. Additionally, the bike won’t be road legal until registration, and therefore using the bike on the roads is illegal before that date.  Additionally, for bikes expected to be registered, your warranty will only be valid once registered.

It is your responsibility to notify the insurance company to arrange cover (or accept the risk that your bike is not insured) and notify any finance company who will have an interest if you intend to take delivery or collection before the registration start date.  If we have acted as a credit broker and we will need to speak with the finance company too.

By requesting early delivery or collection of your motorcycle, you agree that we have made you aware of the risk and accept that you have full liability for any losses or costs as a result of inadequate insurance or use of the bike before the registration date.
